The Yarn Over Yarn Journey
Hello, and thanks for visiting!
For over 35 years, I’ve been immersed in knitting, teaching, and designing, venturing into weaving over the past decade, and have recently received a certification in tech editing through TKGA.
The journey began in college with a trip to a local yarn store, a welcome escape from papers and exams. My roommate introduced me to the magic of knitting ~ two basic stitches, knit and purl, are the foundation for even the most intricate designs. If you learn those two simple stitches you can learn to knit anything.
I have since lived in various parts of the country which provided the opportunity to explore many local yarn shops, each with its unique charm. In one of these shops, I discovered rigid heddle weaving, an art that continues to fascinate me.
With a master's degree in interior design, concentrated in computer-aided design, combined with a career in computer graphics/electronic publishing adds a dynamic dimension to my creative pursuits.
After years of contemplating, I decided to create this website – my creative haven, exploring color, texture, and design. I aim to keep things relaxed while sharing interesting techniques and ideas.
This venture is dedicated to my mother, a gifted seamstress who passed down her love for handmade creations. In her creative spirit, I embark on this journey, and extend an invitation for you to join me in this artistic adventure.
Will you be a part of it?
